GrowLab Announces its Five Winter 2012 Cohort Companies
VANCOUVER, BC (November 20, 2012) – Vancouver-based startup accelerator, GrowLab, announces its Winter 2012 cohort today. Five chosen companies have settled in GrowLab’s new space and are ready to begin their 4-month program on Monday, November 26th.

Under the leadership of Mike Edwards (Initio Group), GrowLab has quickly become one of the top accelerators in North America. “The quality of applicants is really impressive. It was not easy to select just five companies.” said Edwards, GrowLab’s Executive Director. “Startups, both locally and internationally, now see that GrowLab is a game changer. Our founders are committed to adding value and are invested in the success of these companies.”
The five cohort companies are hand picked by GrowLab’s founders, who are world class entrepreneurs and investors: Boris Wertz (Version One Ventures), Leonard Brody(Clarity Digital), Debbie Landa (Dealmaker Media), and Jason Bailey (East Side Games).
In the coming weeks, GrowLab’s founders and Executive Director will be mentoring and leveraging their extensive professional network to lead the cohort through an intensive acceleration period, pushing each company to a new height. GrowLab provides startups with up to $25,000 in seed funding, mentorship, office space and the opportunity to secure $150k follow-on funding from BDC Venture Capital. The program will conclude with an invite-only Demo Day where each company will get the opportunity to pitch to an exclusive group of angel and venture investors, top industry professionals, and mentors from both Vancouver and the Silicon Valley.
